Since 1998, TLC for Kids has given relief and much-needed distraction to sick children and their families during stressful and traumatic situations. In 2004, we expanded the RAPID TLC and Distraction Box services to South Australia. In 2023 we started rolling out the Tap 2 Distract App and this year, we are expanding the TLC Ambulance to benefit children and families across SA. Our services have been used over 15.8 million times and counting In hospitals across Australia.

Our critical support programs are now being used over 1 million times per year, and we are constantly working towards doing more and reaching more children and families in need.

With partnerships already established with the SAAS (South Australia Ambulance Service) and sponsorships established with HAS Foundation, Variety SA and Freemasons SA/NT we are now building meaningful partnerships to help us reach and support hundreds more families.

Our Aim

We are focused on securing funds to establish, deploy, and sustain a TLC Ambulance service in South Australia, covering ongoing operational costs associated with each trip. The expenses will vary based on trip complexity and the need for additional medical staff besides volunteer paramedics.

When not engaged in Memory Making Trips*, our unique TLC Ambulance will transport patients** requiring minimal medical aid for various needs like medical appointments, and hospital transfers, with a key emphasis on wheelchair accessibility. By broadening our services to include more sick children and families, we aim to optimise the support offered.

*Memory Making Trips completed in the TLC Ambulance are for children in palliative care and their families.
